New travel information and advisory alerting platform introduces by RailYatri




RailYatri.in has launched National RailYatri Alert Service (NRAS), which is claimed to be the country's first travel information & advisory alerting platform.NRAS, RailYatri.in, explains uses customised algorithm to determine the impact of different types of major travel related announcements (new special trains, cancellations, delays, new stoppages, etc.), incidents (accidents, planned blockages, etc.) and events (historical, current, and upcoming) at a local station or train level.The platform provides early alerts to train travelers across nearly 8000 locations in India. Train travelers can view/receive time-sensitive personalised information about specific station or travel on mobile up to 6 months in advance.To use NRAS, travelers can simply enter their station/train/journey/PNR details on their mobile phone (called as my-NRAS) and the system will display alerts relevant to the user. There is also a feature for regular commuters to specify their regular routes and view alerts on their way.
The service has initially been launched free to allow users to experience the service and there will be a nominal access charge post the launch period. This mobile service can be accessed using web-enabled browsers on mobiles at the URL – http://m.railyatri.in

Accenture, Wipro and Infosys among most sought after employers in India: LinkedIn



Accenture has retained the top spot on the list of 20 most sought after employers in India for the second time, according to the 'most InDemand employer brand' list compiled by professional networking site LinkedIn.This is the second year in a row Accenture has retained its number one spot, the professional networking site said. IT majors, Wipro and Infosys are ranked second and third according to the list. 
The top 10 companies in the list are IBM (4th), Hewlett Packard (5th), Oracle (6th), Tata Consultancy Services (7th), Amazon (8th), Microsoft (9th) and Airtel (10th).Other firms in the list included are Larsen & Toubro (11), Dell (12), HCL Technologies (14), Cognizant Technology Solutions (15), Deloitte (16), Cisco (17), Genpact (18), Adobe (19) and GE (20).The top sectors in India are tech, telecom & media, professional services, and aero/auto/engineering. LinkedIn has determined these rankings by analysing the actions of its members on the platform. The site has more than 238 million members globally with over 21 million in India.
Internet giant Google which is ranked as the top employer globally by LinkedIn, is on the 13th spot on the Indian list. Google is ranked number one, followed by Apple (2) and Unilever (3) on the global list, compiled by LinkedIn.

Sony launches three new headphones in India



The three headphones are the MDR-10RNC, the MDR-10RBT and the NWZ-WH303.The MDR-10RNC is the first noise cancelling headphone from Sony to be introduced to the Indian market. Featuring three noise cancelling modes that can be activated by pressing an AINC button, the headphones also feature not one, but two microphone sensors to measure the noise. One set of sensor sits on the outside while the other set lies on the inside of the actual headphone unit. We had some time to spend with this headphone and Sony was kind enough to put a "noise generating" machine next to us.
The second set of cans introduced by the Japanese giant is the MDR-10RBT, a pair of headphones with the same form factor as the MDR-10RNC, but these are a completely wireless set of headphones. While the wireless feature is courtesy Bluetooth, these headphones also pack an NFC chip for easy pairing with your favourite smartphone. The MDR-10RNC and the MDR-10RBT will both retail for Rs. 14,990 and should be available in the next few days across Sony stores.

The NWZ-WG303 is a pair of headphones with built-in 4GB of storage where you can load up your favourite mp3 files. Yup, this pair of headphoens also functions as an mp3 player, but that's not all. Sony realized that in many countries, people like to ride the bicycle or go for a jog and listen to music at the same time.The NZ-WG303 will retail for Rs. 8990 and will be available across Sony stores in the coming days.

Micromax launches the Canvas Turbo smartphone

Micromax Canvas Turbo smartphone. It is priced at Rs. 19,990 and will be available to consumers starting October 26.the device has a 5-inch Full HD CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) display. A 1.5Ghz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T chipset along with 2GB of RAM powers the device. The rear of the device houses a 13MP camera and the front has a 5MP camera. The camera app on the smartphone showcases a host of features such as ‘Camerazzi’, which offers features such as 360-degree panorama, Cinemagraph and Object Eraser.The Canvas Turbo has 16GB built-in storage. A 2000mAh battery powers the entire package. The smartphone runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and Micromax claims that the OS will be updatable OTA.apps and features including BBM & Hike for Instant Messaging, Spuul to watch free movies, Kingsoft Office, M!Security for anti-theft and anti-virus protection, M!Unlock to access “Blow to Unlock” feature, M!Live to download games, videos, wallpapers & music, Opera Mini browser and Game-hub. We have seen these features on other Micromax smartphones such as the Canvas 4 and the Canvas Doodle 2.

Sony released new PS4 commercial with 24 exclusive games

PS4 commercial claiming 24 exclusive PS4 titles including KillZone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son and The Order: 1886. 14 studios are already making PS4 games and 180 titles are currently in development for the PS4.The new commercial also mentions that 14 'award winning studios are developing games for the PS4'. This points to Sony's stout portfolio of first party developers, including Sucker Punch (Infamous), Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet), Guerrila Games (KillZone), Sony Santa Monica (God of War) and more.At this year's Gamescom in Cologne, Sony also mentioned that 180 games were in development for the PS4, and claimed that 33 of them would be available by the end of 2013.PS4 is all set for a November 15 launch in North America and November 29 in Europe across 32 countries.

Apple announced iPad Air, and an iPad mini with a Retina Display, Mac Pro,New MacBook Pros,OSX Mavericks,iLife and iWork



iPad Air
The iPad Air has been redesigned and is in line with what we have seen from the rumours circulating the Internet. It still has the 9.7-inch Retina Display with a 2048x1536 pixel resolution. It is available in two colours – space grey and silver. The iPad Air is slimmer than the iPad 4 measuring in at 7.5mm in thickness. Under the hood, the iPad Air is powered by the A7 chip with 64-bit architecture and M7 motion coprocessor.The Wi-Fi only iPad air is priced at $499 (Rs. 30,700 approx.) for the 16GB variant, $599 (Rs. 36,800 approx.) for the 32GB version, $699 (Rs. 43,000 approx.) for the 64GB variant and $799 (Rs. 49,000 approx.) for the 128GB. The Wi-Fi plus cellular version of the iPad Air are priced at $629 (Rs. 38,700 approx.) for the 16GB version, $729 (Rs. 44,800 approx.) for the 32GB version, $829 (Rs. 51,000 approx.) for the 64GB variant and $929 (Rs. 57,000 approx.) for the 128GB.

The iPad mini has seen a bump in specifications. The 7.9-inch display now has a 2048x1536 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the iPad mini also has the A7 chip with 64-bit architecture and M7 motion coprocessor. The device is 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 331 grams. The mini comes in the same two colours – space grey and silver.The Wi-Fi only iPad Mini is priced at $399 (Rs. 24,500 approx.) for the 16GB variant, $499 (Rs. 30,700 approx.) for the 32GB version, $599 (Rs. 36,800 approx.) for the 64GB variant and $699 for the 128GB. Mac Pro

Mac Pro, which was unveiled at WWDC. The Mac Pro will start at $2999 (Rs. 1.84 lakhs approx.) and will be available from December. Under the hood, the device has the Intel Xeon E5 processors, supports up to 64GB RAM, dual AMD FirePro graphics chips with up to 6GB of dedicated memory, and up to 1TB of far faster PCI Express solid state storage. Apple claims that the Mac Pro has 7 teraflops of compute power.
New MacBook Pro

The new 13-inch model is thinner measuring in at 0.71-inches in thickness and weighs thick and weighs 1.57kgs. It has 4GB RAM and Apple claims that the device will last for 9 hours. It has a starting price of $1,299 (Rs. 80,000 approx.).15-inch MacBook Pro Retina Display the device has been updated with the new Iris Pro integrated graphics along with other performance boosts. Apple claims that the battery will last up to 8 hours. The 15-inch machine comes with a Thunderbolt 2 port, and has 802.11ac Wi-Fi support. It has a 2GHz Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. The price of the 15-inch Pro starts at $1,999 (Rs. 1.23 lakhs approx.). For $2,599 (Rs. 1.6 lakhs approx.) users can get a 2.3GHz processor, Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics card and 512GB of flash storage.
OSX Mavericks
Apple also announced the availability of Mac OS X Mavericks. The best part of the announcement is that the OS is available to users as a free download. You can download the new OS for free today if you're on a Mac that is up to 7 years old.OS X Mavericks brings with it over 200 new features. Some of the noteworthy ones are – iBooks and Maps integration, added features to the finder, better notifications, support for multiple displays, iCloud Keychain, Safari and more.
iLife and iWork
The iOS update for iLife focuses on optimization with the 64-bit architecture. The desktop version of the app too has updates bringing better browsing and sharing features. Garage Band now has 32 tracks on iOS and a new sound library on the Mac.iWork too has seen an update on iOS to support the 64-bit architecture. The app brings with it new effects and animations. iWork, which includes Pages, Numbers, and Keynote is available for free to users who purchase a new Mac or iOS device.

Smartphone tools for recruiters from LinkedIn



The recruiter Mobile app is designed to help recruiters interact more easily with job seekers, while the Mobile Work With Us app lets employers stick job openings at the top of employees' profiles.The app gives recruiters and employers access to the more than 238 million member profiles and give a chance to provide feedback and/or respond to job queries via phone call, email, text or InMail directly from the app. Both the apps are currently available only for iOS users.Parker Barrile, senior director of product at LinkedIn, stated in a blog post that approximately 33 percent of LinkedIn members access the professional social network via their smartphones and more than 30 percent of LinkedIn job views also come from mobile phones. LinkedIn had launched the CheckIn app earlier this year for recruiters that helped curate and manage information about candidates.LinkedIn said about the Mobile Work With Us app, "Since the most popular thing to do on LinkedIn is viewing member profiles and people love working with people they know, Work With Us is a powerful way to turn your employees into brand ambassadors."

new iPads expected,Apple invite for October 22 event

October 22Apple is expected to showcase an update to the iPad and iPad mini at the event.Information circulating the Internet suggests that the 9.7-inch iPad will see a redesign and become slimmer. It will have design elements very reminiscent of the iPad mini. The iPad mini too will see an upgrade in terms of specifications. It will still have the 7.8-inch form factor but will house a Retina Display.Apart from the new iPads, there are a lot of confirmed products that Apple needs to shed some more light on. To start with, there is OSX 10.9 Mavericks. We have seen a glimpse of the new desktop OS in the past and can’t wait for a confirmed release date.Apple has also shown us a glimpse of the very futuristic Mac Pro. At WWDC.

Xperia C, is now available in India for Rs. 20,490. The Sony Xperia C supports dual-SIM, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2 GHz MTK6589 quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.The Sony Xperia C sports a 5-inch display with 960×540 pixels resolution. It has an 8MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. The smartphone comes with 4GB built-in storage and supports additional storage up to 32GB via microSD. In terms of connectivity, the Xperia C supports 3G, GPRS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.The Sony Xperia C is available in three colours – black, white and purple.

Twitter app for Blackberry 10 updated

The app will bring personalization adjustments for BB10 users.The app is useful for people who use lists and helps in keeping track of accounts. Twitter had earlier this year created a functionality of adding 1,000 lists that can contain up to 5,000 accounts. Now with the new feature users will able to track lists while on the move on their smartphone.Twitter for BlackBerry will display trends based on personal interests and location as well.
The announcement was made by Alec Saunders, Vice President for Developer Relations at the BlackBerry Jam conference in Hong Kong. He added that Blackberry World has now over 256,000 apps for BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry 7 combined.
