Samsung launches Smartphone Gamepad and Mobile Console Application

Samsung introducing the Smartphone Gamepad and Mobile Console app to enhance the gaming experience on Samsung’s devices. Gamepad easily connects with smartphones and tablets through Bluetooth pairing. The most convenient features optimized for Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 4.3 such as Galaxy Note 3, S4, Note II, and S III enable easy connectivity with Gamepad via NFC tag and quicker access to games via the “PLAY” button.

The Smartphone Gamepad instantly transforms the user’s Galaxy smartphone or tablet into a portable gaming console or even a home console. Through its premium, easy-to-carry design and durable steel frame, Gamepad is attachable to mobile devices ranging from 4-inches to 6.3-inches, allowing users to play games wherever they are. Users can also connect Galaxy devices to their TV through an HDMI cable or All Share Screen Mirroring for video game console experience from their living room.

Samsung’s also introduced a new integrated game launching app called the Mobile Console , it can be easily accessed With just a tap of the “PLAY” button. It allows users to conveniently browse and purchase game pad supported games. The Mobile Console app is available for download through Samsung Apps or by tapping the Gamepad’s ”PLAY” button, and offers 35 dedicated games at launch with much more to come in 2014.

The Gamepad is currently available in select European markets and will be available in additional regions in the coming weeks, Samsung has not revealed the price yet.

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance, a 4.7-inch dual-core Android smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Core Advance, the new Samsung smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.The Samsung Galaxy Core Advance measures 133.3 x 70.5 x 9.7 mm and weighs 145g. The smartphone comes with physical keys for - menu, home and back. It has a 4.7-inch WVGA TFT display, 5MP rear camera with auto focus and VGA front facing camera. The smartphone comes with a 8GB built-in storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD. A 2,000 mAh battery powers the smartphone.

Galaxy Core Advance supports Wi-Fi b/g/n/, USB, NFC with S Beam, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with GLONASS. The smartphone comes preloaded with a range of features such as Sound & Shot, Group Play, S Translator, Easy Mode, S Voice, S Beam, Instant Voice Recorder, Voice Guidance (TTS, Voice Guided Camera, Text Reader) and FM Radio.The Galaxy Core Advance will be offered in Deep Blue and Pearl White colour options.

Samsung hasn't revealed the price of the smartphone, however looking at the specifications it's most likely to be a mid-range one. The Galaxy Core Advance will be commercially available in early next year. Samsung plans to launch a range of accessories dedicated to the Galaxy Core Advance.

PS4 launch in India confimed on Decmeber 18

 After a lot of speculation and rumours, next gen gaming is eventually arriving in India as we just received a media invite to the PS4 launch event to be held on December 18 in New Delhi. The calligraphic invite appears a bit cryptic, but nevertheless the message is clear.Since its debut in the US and European markets last month, the PS4 has been creating quite a frenzy selling more than a million units on day one and two million units in just under two weeks and well on its way to achieve its target of selling more than 3 million PS4's by the end of the year. The PS4 sales have also outnumbered the Xbox One, which sold a 150,000 units in its first 48 hours whereas the PS3 sold a 165,000 units in the same amount of time. Analysts have also predicted that the PS4 is likely to sell 49 million consoles in the next five years.

While there is no information available regarding the price of the console, given the $399 price in the US, you can expect the price bracket to be around Rs.28,0000-Rs.30,000 mark. Sony India head Atindriya Bose said they will reveal the MRP of the console at the launch event, and also added that as of now, first party titles for the PS4 will retail at 3,999 INR and accessories such as the DualShock 4 and PS Eye camera will be available but in limited quantities.While the confirmation over the launch of the next gen is good news for Indian gamers, catch here is that the launch line up is not as solid compared to the Xbox One. For Sony, apart from Kill Zone: Shadow Fall and Resogun, the launch line up looks a quite feeble, as their launch window got a severe blow with the delay of DriveClub, The Crew and Watch Dogs. If we ignore the third party titles for both consoles, as of now there are a very few exclusives available for the PS4. while, on the contrary Xbox One has titles that are stellar and at the same time offer a lot of variety.

Spotliter adds real-time effects to your iOS videos

Spotliter Video allows amateur videographer to apply cool Instagram-like effects and filters to their videos. Spotliter Video can be downloaded from the app store for free.Users need to start the app, then tap to choose an effect from the scrolling selector along the bottom. It offers a dozen of filters like the regular sepia, black-and-white, and as well as a bunch of cool features like B&W2COLOR, that blends the image from black and white on one end to color on the other. If the user taps on the image preview they will be able to see the effect where you touch.

It also has a Floodlight feature, which darkens all but a finger-specific area. The effects will look very good if you want to shoot home videos. The Nightclub mode detects motion and the user can tap anywhere to highlight a portion of the image. It has a Magnify feature that zooms a size-adjustable circular area while leaving the rest of the shot at 1x. Once finished the app lest you save your recordings in a folder within your video library. For now the app lacks any kind of editing or sharing options.

Google Nexus TV might arrive in early 2014

After launching the HDMI enabled Chromecast device for streaming purposes, it seems that Google will be bringing in full-fledged Nexus Television box sets to the market. Reports are indicating that the search giant will be announcing a set-top box with a touchpad remote by early 2014.

The TV was apparently first called Google TV but later replaced with the Nexus branding. Sources also indicate that the interface will be Android based and might run on the recently announced KitKit OS. The TV will come preloaded with apps like Netflix, Hulu and other streaming options and consumers will also be able to play games on the television.Consumers already having an Android mobile device will be able to use it to perform all the functions of the remote via an app. There will also be a touch enabled remote control which will be included in the Google Nexus TV package. There are also rumours lurking around that the Nexus branded TV might feature the Chromecast built-into it.

While there is no confirmation about the launch date, we just might see a glimpse of Google’s new television at the Consumer Electronics Show which will be taking place in January next year. It will be interesting to see such a product from Google as it will be facing some tough competition from Apple TVand Roku.
