HP introduces 'ElitePad 900' slate, featuring Win 8, Intel Atom CPU and 64GB SSD

Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced the HP ElitePad 900, a Windows 8-powered slate with a 10.1-inch display, which is just 9.2mm thick and weighs in at 680 grams. Also part of the package are a 1080p front facing camera and an 8MP rear camera along with an LED flash.

The HP ElitePad 900 uses CNC-machined aluminum and a Gorilla Glass 2 front. If you’re wondering whether this slate will be running the Pro version of Windows 8 or RT, HP says the device is powered by an Intel processor, so Windows 8 Pro it is.

Other specs revealed are 2GB of RAM, a 64GB SSD and integrated graphics onboard.

The HP ElitePad 900 is expected to hit the U.S. stores in January 2013 with the U.S. pricing expect to be announced closer to the launch date.
